Meet The Doctors

 

Dan R. Kirby, DVM;
Veterinarian: Dr. Kirby earned his BS in Bio-Medical Science in 1979 from Texas A&M University and graduated Cum Laude with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1984. He has been a practicing veterinarian for 25 years and has been the owner and director of Alamo Heights Pet Clinic for 11 years. Under Dr. Kirby's ownership, AHPC has passed stringent guidelines to become an AAHA accredited hospital, www.aahanet.org. He has expanded and remodeled the clinic and has furnished it with the latest in veterinary technology. Dr Kirby's veterinary interests are surgery, ultrasonography, rehabilitation therapy and a holistic approach to medicine.

Dr. Kirby is married and has 3 children. He hosts a radio show every Sunday morning on KTSA 550 am from 11 a.m. - Noon, www.ktsa.com. His interests include photography, archeology, fishing, kayaking, hiking and basketball. The Kirby's have 3 dogs, 1 bird, 1 rabbit, 1 hamster and ? cats. Claudia S. Alldredge, BS, DVM;
Veterinarian: Dr. Alldredge, has been an AHPC associate for the past 11 years, she graduated Cum Laude with a DVM from Texas A&M University in 1981 and she worked in a AAHA certified small animal/exotic practice in Fort Worth for 15 years before relocating to the Texas Hill Country in 1996.

Dr. Alldredge is married to a veterinarian specializing in large animals and has a mobile service in the Hill Country. Together they have 3 children. She admits to having quite a menagerie of animals; 12 dogs, 7 cats, 1 parrot, 2 miniature donkeys and 3 horses. Her interests include horses and she is an avid gardener.

 

Ann Cross, DVM, MS;
Veterinarian: Dr. Cross has been an AHPC associate for 3 years. She received her BA from Hamilton College in Clinton, NY in 1996, her MS from Colorado State University in 2001 and her DVM in 2006. Dr. Cross was also certified in Medical Veterinary Acupuncture from CSU in 2006.

Dr. Cross is married and has a two year old son and is soon to be blessed with a second child in late August. Her hobbies include skiing, hiking, walking and raising a family.
 

Melinda Metzler, DVM;
Veterinarian: Dr. Metzler is the newest member of the AHPC team, joining us in June of 2009. She graduated from Centenary College in Shreveport, LA in 2005 with a BS in Biology, a minor in chemistry and a BA in psychology. Dr. Metzler then attended Texas A&M University earning her DVM in May of 2009. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but has a special interest in veterinary dentistry and surgery.

Dr. Metzler married a fellow classmate in May 2009 who also became a small animal veterinarian in San Antonio. They share their love with their 3 dogs and 1 cat. She played soccer through college and still enjoys a good pickup game.
